NeatBuild Construction was founded by John Kidner, a highly experienced builder with over 30 years of hands-on industry knowledge, a deep commitment to quality, and a passion for building lasting relationships.

John’s journey began at the age of 18, when he worked as a labourer in the prestige residential construction sector while studying to obtain his own builder’s license. During this time, he gained invaluable experience working alongside various trades, including electricians, plumbers, concreters, tilers, plasterers, carpenters, joiners, roofers, renderers, water proofers, and landscapers. This combination of practical, on-the-job learning and theoretical study laid the foundation for a distinguished career in construction.

After a decade of refining his craft in prestige residential construction, John transitioned into commercial construction, where he took on the role of Site Foreman for a tier-two construction company. Over the next 10 years, he honed his skills in managing and operating large-scale construction sites, ultimately rising to the position of Senior Site Manager on multimillion-dollar projects, reaching up to $28 million including aged care facilities, schools, and student accommodation at Macquarie University.

John's expertise and leadership abilities led him to Project Management, where he worked with some of the most respected tier-two companies in the industry. His project portfolio expanded to include high-profile developments such as data centres, shopping centres, Bunnings stores, and HomeCo retail sites, with project values reaching up to $45 million.

With three decades of experience and a wealth of knowledge gained from working with some of the best in the business, John set out to create NeatBuild Construction—a company built on the principles of collaboration, reliability, and excellence. Drawing from the best practices he’s learned throughout his career, John’s vision for NeatBuild is simple yet powerful: to create a culture where every relationship is a partnership, and to build a team of reliable, dependable, experienced, and passionate tradespeople committed to delivering high-quality work safely and on time.
